8 Days Zanzibar Holiday Package |Details
Day 1: Arrival in Zanzibar.
Karibu! Welcome to Zanzibar. Your 8 Days Zanzibar Holiday will start as soon as you touch down at the Zanzibar Airport. You will be met by your our company representative who will help load the bags into our comfortable vehicle before we set off for a hotel situated nearby.
Filled with idyllic sandy beaches, Zanzibar has a colourful history – everything from slave traders to Arabian sultans and fruit exporters. The sight of traditional dhows sailing along the coast evokes what the island must have been like in Livingstone’s day. The old part of Zanzibar’s main city is known as Stone Town.
The best way to see this exotic port town is on foot, exploring the markets, shops, mosques, palaces and courtyards. Today, you will just relax. Enjoy dinner and your overnight stay. Tomorrow the Zanzibar holiday starts in earnest!
Day 2: Full Day at Prison Island & Nakupenda Sandbank
Your day two of the 8 Days/7 Nights Zanzibar Holiday will start with a relaxed breakfast at 9 am.
After that, our driver will take you from your hotel for a boat trip on the Indian Ocean to Prison Island near the Stone Town coast. Prison Island was formerly owned by an Arab and was privately used as a place of detention for disobedient slaves. It was built in 1893 as a central prison for Zanzibar, hence the name Prison Island.
Here, you will be able to see, feed, and take photos of the Aldabra giant tortoises, Dikdik and Peacock. Visit Prison Chamber and learn the short history of the Prison Island. Explore Mangrove Forest and perhaps swim and snorkel if interested.
In the early afternoon you will take a boat ride of about 30 minutes to Nakupenda (I love you) and sandbank. This is the perfect place near stone town where you can relax, swim, and snorkel while enjoying your fresh seafood barbeque, soft and hard drinks, tropical fruits under the shade of built umbrellas. Lunch will be ready at 1pm. In the evening you will be brought at the shores for an hour break before joining a sunset cruise at 5-7pm (optional).
Dinner and overnight in your selected hotel.
Day 3: Full Day Stone Town & Spice Farms Tour
The Stone Town tour makes for a great cultural and historical experience, while the spice tour imparts insight into why Zanzibar is known as the Spice Island.
After a leisurely breakfast at around 9 am, you will have a chance to explore Stone Town’s markets, old slave markets, National Museum, High court building, Old German Consulate, Africa House (former English Club), Tippu Tip House and Grave, Kelekele square, Old British Consulate, Orphanage home, Old Fort, Forodhani Gardens, House of Wonders, Sultan Palace, Dr. Livingstone House, St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Old Mosques, Freddie Mercury House, etc.
At around 12 pm, venture out of Stone Town and take a 20-30 minute drive to the spice farm for a guided tour to learn all about the history of this town’s renowned spice trade.
Take the opportunity to touch, smell and taste various spices such as cinnamon, vanilla and ginger – then sample some delicious teas! Lunch will also be in the farm to taste spicy food prepared by local women group there. In the late afternoon, our guide will drive you to Kendwa/Nungwi in the North for dinner and overnight.

Enjoy free time in the beautiful Zanzibar archipelago today. There are many ways you can spend your day – perhaps talk to your guide for any recommendations they might have.
