Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Entebbe – Lake Mburo National Park
Pick up from Entebbe and drive southwest, stopping at Mpigi Drum Makers to watch ceremonial drums being crafted using traditional methods.
Pause at the equator for photographs before continuing through papyrus swamps, tropical rainforests, and the rolling plains of Ankole. Arrive at Lake Mburo National Park, the only park in Uganda centered around a lake.
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Mburo. Spot crocodiles, hippos, and birds such as Pelicans, Black Crake, Heron, and the rare Shoebill Stork. Dinner and overnight at Mihingo Lodge (Full Board).
Mihingo Lodge
Mihingo Lodge is a peaceful and luxurious retreat adjacent to Lake Mburo National Park. Each of its ten tented rooms is built on wooden platforms and stilts, covered by a thatched roof.
The tents feature en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water, showers, and flush toilets. Rooms are set in varied locations—some in forest settings, others overlooking the lake, and some perched on dramatic rock outcrops—offering privacy and stunning views.
Day 2: Lake Mburo National Park – Entebbe
After an early breakfast, head out for a game drive along the park’s tourist tracks. The Impala, Zebra, and Kazuma tracks reveal impalas, zebras, waterbucks, warthogs, and topis.
Climb Kazuma Hill for panoramic views of the park’s five lakes and rolling hills. The Kigambira loop takes you through wooded wilderness with bushbucks and duikers, while the Lakeside track is ideal for viewing hippos, water plants, and diverse birdlife.
Return to the lodge for lunch, then drive back to Entebbe, marking the end of your 2 Days Safari in Lake Mburo National Park.
