Day 1: Tanzania: Arrival And Briefing
On day one of the 10 Days Tanzania Family Safari & Zanzibar Holiday, our representative will meet and greet you on arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport. After that, you will be transferred to your pre-booked hotel in Arusha city. Located at the base of volcanic Mount Meru, Arusha city is the gateway to Tanzania’s famous northern safari destinations and to Africa’s tallest peak- the 5895-meter Mount Kilimanjaro, lying some 100km northeast. After setting up the lodge on arrival, you and your family can relax and have a swim in the pool.

Day 2: Lake Manyara: Game Drives And Wildlife
After a hearty breakfast on day two of the 10 Days Tanzania Family Safari & Zanzibar Holiday, you will be driven for about 2 hours to Lake Manyara. This shallow soda lake is situated on the on the floor of Africa’s Great Rift Valley. Said by Ernest Hemingway to be the “loveliest lake in Africa,” it is also the home of a diverse set of landscapes and wildlife.
The park is famously known for its tree-climbing lions. You kids can also see flamingos, elephant, buffalos, wildebeest, impalas, mongoose, warthogs, giraffe, zebras, and numerous plains game here. An impressive number of large animals reside in this area and Lake Manyara has a higher concentration of baboons than most parks in Africa.
Lake Manyara National Park will provide you with the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife. More than 400 species have been recorded here including flamingos, pelicans, herons, ducks, storks, cormorants, kingfishers, jacanas, vultures, hornbills, etc.

Day 3: Serengeti: Game Drive And Leisure Day
Relish a hearty breakfast and be ready to depart from the Lake Manyara. Proceed on a drive of approximately 4 hours to Serengeti. You will have a picnic lunch at the entrance. Enter the Serengeti National Park and enjoy a game drive on the way to your lodge.
The vast savannah plains of the Serengeti – brown and burnt in the dry season, green after the rains – hosts thousands of hoofed animals and fierce African predators.
Flat and rolling, with long grass and flat topped acacia trees, these plains get their name from the Maasai word Siringet – meaning ‘a place where the land runs on forever’. You will arrive at your lodge in the afternoon. You will have the afternoon at your disposal. You may opt for an evening game drive or just relax and spend some time at the lodge.

Day 4: Serengeti: Game Drive
Your day 4 of the 10 Days Tanzania Family Safari & Zanzibar Holiday will start with a game drive at dawn. You’ll move out while the animals are at their most active, then head back to the lodge for brunch at around 11 am. After spending the warmer part of the day at leisure, as the animals do, depart again at dusk for another adventure through the wild before returning in time for dinner.
There is also an option of a hot air balloon safari over the Serengeti plains today, which makes for an excellent family activity. If you have pre-booked this activity you will be picked up before dawn and driven to the launch site.
After a safety briefing, you will glide through the sunrise, sometimes at tree height, which provides amazing photo opportunities. Sometimes you will ascend, getting an overview of the vastness of the plains and the early morning movements of the teeming herds. After landing, you will be treated to a five-star bush breakfast, before being returned to your lodge.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Enjoy a good breakfast today and have a game drive on your way out of Serengeti National Park. After a picnic lunch enroute, you and your family will enter the Ngorongoro Conservation area.
A gigantic, perfectly intact volcanic caldera, Ngorongoro Crater is home to more than 30,000 African wild animals. Among these are endangered the critically endangered black rhinos, African lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, impalas, zebras and hippos.
The crater floor provides outstanding Big game viewing all year round, and the photo opportunities here are unequalled. We jump in a 4×4 and head into the crater itself for a three to four hour game drive where the kids (and adults!) can enjoy spotting the animals. After that, you all will transfer to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Mto Wa Mbu – Village Walk
Day 6 of the 10 Days Tanzania Family Safari & Zanzibar Holiday with start with a leisurely breakfast. You will then embark on a short 30-minute drive to Mto Wa Mbu village. The village is situated on the main road before the town of Karatu and surrounded by breathtaking scenery. It is believed to be home of representatives of all Tanzania’s 120 tribal groups.
This melting pot of cultures is home to around 20000 people that form a flourishing farming community. Upon arrival, join the local community for a guided afternoon stroll through the village, learning about local history, industry and cuisine from members of several Tanzanian tribes. You’ll also visit a local market and learn how the villagers- huts are made. Then enjoy lunch with a local family, tasting different types of banana and rice dishes harvested from nearby farms.
After lunch, visit the workshops of village artisans who will describe influences and materials they use to make the items they sell in local markets. They’ll also show you techniques they use to create art from banana leaves – then it’s your turn to create some banana art of your own! The rest of afternoon is for you to relax around the lodge or have a swim in the pool.

Day 7: Flight To Zanzibar
Today you all will depart from Mto Wambu after breakfast and get transferred to Arusha for lunch. This will be a drive of approximately 2 hours.
From Arusha, you will then catch a flight to Zanzibar. On your arrival at Zanzibar International Airport, our local representative will meet you and drop you at your hotel for the rest of the evening. You can relax after the flight and rejuvenate your energy.
Day 8: Zanzibar
Today you have the day to yourself. You may enjoy some of the excursions to the various attractions at your destination. You will get to enjoy the sun, sand and sea product at your hotel’s beachfront. Let your kids enjoy and participate in beach activities or go swimming at the hotel’s pool. Stone town, Nungwi, and Kendwa beaches, Snorkelling at Mnemba Atoll, Watching the sunset, Giant Turtles on Prison Island are some of the things you can see and do in Zanzibar.
Day 9: Zanzibar Leisure Day
Today you have the day to yourself. You may enjoy some of the excursions to the various attractions at your destination. Other must-see attractions in Zanzibar are the giant turtles on Prison Island and Zanzibar’s numerous great fish restaurants.
Day 10: Departure
Enjoy your family breakfast and checkout from the lodge. From here we’ll be transferring you to the Zanzibar International Airport in time for your flight back to India.
