Day 1: Arrive At Matemwe Beach House

Ideal for families or small groups, the villa is set on the edge of Unjuga - the largest island in the Zanzibar Archipelago – and offers a home-away-from-home.
Days 2-5: Tropical Island Vacation In Zanzibar
Wake up completely refreshed and ready to enjoy your Zanzibar Island beach Holiday with family and friends. Enjoy kayaking, snorkeling, diving and reef walks.
A personal butler and chef are on hand to ensure your family is well catered for while they enjoy the beach. If you would like to simply relax, enjoy spa treatments and massages in your bedroom, relax in a quiet nook on daybed, have a leisurely swim in the pool, or order a fruity drink from the bar.
Kites, beach bats, Frisbees and snorkeling gear will keep children entertained. And you can also embark for a nearby sandbank island for breakfast or a delicious seafood barbeque.
Excursions to other parts of Zanzibar can easily be arranged. And on day four of this 6 Day Family Zanzibar Beach Holiday, you will embark on a full-day tour of Stone Town, Zanzibar’s cultural and historical heart, including a trip to Prison Island.
Zanzibar Stone Town is a maze of old buildings protected by brass-studded doors, with some streets not having changed for centuries. The smell of cloves and other spices permeates the sultry air. Zanzibar is known as the ‘Spice Island’ and for decades was the centre of the region’s marine trade.
Day 6: Return To Stone Town
A vehicle transfer returns you to Stone Town where you can continue with onward travel arrangements.

Highly recommended for a family or group of up to four adults and two children, this traditional Zanzibari-style property has a lovely location on the north-eastern coast! It’s one of the most charming and characterful exclusive-use options on the Island.
Matemwe Beach House is owned and operated by Asilia, one of our favourite bush and beach holiday operators. This company’s portfolio spans Tanzania, Kenya, and Zanzibar. It includes the beach house’s sister properties Matemwe Lodge and Matemwe Retreat.
Matemwe Beach House includes accommodation, all meals, a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks, a laundry service, a chef service, and a butler service. The house has two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom, in a Zanzibari style. The double bedrooms are positioned on the house’s ground floor, while the twin bedroom occupies a mezzanine level.
The property feels nicely secluded within its well-kept walled garden, and its swimming pool is safely fenced. The pool has sunloungers alongside, making it the perfect place to relax in between activities here. Guests are well looked after by a private butler and a private chef.
Additionally, you will have access to the communal facilities at neighbouring Matemwe Lodge - these include a restaurant, a bar, a spa, gardens, and two swimming pools! And Matemwe’s beautiful beach is just in front of both properties.
