For more ideas about where to go, see our guide to the most beautiful beaches in Seychelles.

7 Days Holiday in Seychelles: Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Mahé and Transfer to La Digue

Welcome to the Seychelles and the start of your 7 days holiday in Seychelles! Our representative meets you at Seychelles International Airport on Mahé and takes you to the ferry terminal in Victoria.

From here you take the ferry to Praslin, then a short connecting boat to La Digue, about 1.5 to 2 hours in total. On arrival, you are met and taken to your hotel, your home for the next three nights. Spend the rest of the day settling in and watching your first island sunset.

Day 2: Cycling and Wildlife on La Digue

After a relaxed breakfast, walk down to the main road at La Passe and hire a bicycle, the classic way to get around La Digue. With a basket on the front for your towel, snorkel and picnic, you can explore wherever you like, whenever you like.

Start at the Veuve Nature Reserve, one of the last places on earth to see the Seychelles paradise flycatcher. Look for the males, with their long black tail feathers, flitting through the takamaka trees.

In the afternoon, cycle across to Grand Anse on the east coast, a wide, wild beach backed by forest. The waves here can be strong, so it is best for walking and photos, while nearby Petite Anse and Anse Cocos are worth exploring on foot. Dinner and overnight on La Digue.

Day 3: Anse Source d'Argent and L'Union Estate

Today you visit Anse Source d'Argent, one of the most photographed beaches in the world. You reach it through L'Union Estate, an old coconut plantation with a traditional copra kiln, a colonial plantation house and a pen of giant tortoises. A small entry fee is paid at the gate.

The beach itself is breathtaking, with pink granite boulders, powder-white sand and shallow, clear water that is perfect for swimming and snorkelling. Go in the morning for the softest light and fewer visitors, and check the tides, as the water is best at mid to high tide.

If you have energy left, hike up to Nid d'Aigle, the highest point on La Digue, for views across to Praslin and the neighbouring islands. Dinner and overnight on La Digue.

Day 4: Return to Mahé and Relax at Your Beach Hotel

After breakfast, you take the ferry back to Mahé for the second half of your 7 days holiday in Seychelles. Our driver meets you at the jetty and takes you to your beach hotel.

The afternoon is free to relax. Mahé has more than 60 beaches, from the lively bay at Beau Vallon in the north to quieter coves such as Carana Beach on the north-east coast. Enjoy a swim, a book under the palms and a sunset over the ocean. Dinner and overnight on Mahé.

Day 5: Explore Mahé

Mahé is the largest island in the Seychelles and home to the small capital, Victoria. Spend the morning exploring with your driver or on your own.

Highlights include:

  • Victoria: the silver Clock Tower, the colourful Sir Selwyn Selwyn-Clarke Market and the botanical garden with its giant tortoises.
  • Morne Seychellois National Park: misty mountain forest, scenic roads and short walks with views over the coast.
  • Anse Intendance: a dramatic, palm-fringed beach on the wild south coast.

If your stay includes a Wednesday, don't miss Bazar Labrin, the lively evening street market at Beau Vallon, where you can try grilled fish, Creole curries and fresh fruit juices. Dinner and overnight on Mahé.

Day 6: Free Day on Mahé

Your final full day is yours to enjoy. You could hire a windsurf board or a small catamaran on Beau Vallon Bay, take an optional glass-bottom boat trip in the Ste Anne Marine National Park, or simply spend the day by the sea.

For a wider choice of activities, see our guide to the top things to do in Seychelles. Dinner and overnight on Mahé.

Day 7: Departure

After breakfast, you are collected from your hotel and driven to Seychelles International Airport, ending your 7 days holiday in Seychelles. Safe travels!

Combine Your 7 Days Holiday in Seychelles With a Uganda Safari

The Seychelles is one of the most rewarding beach add-ons to a Uganda safari. Flights from Entebbe connect to Mahé through Nairobi, Addis Ababa or Dubai, so you can go from the gorillas of Bwindi to the Indian Ocean in a single day.

A popular plan is 7 to 10 days in Uganda for gorilla trekking, chimpanzees and wildlife, followed by this 7 days holiday in Seychelles. See how it works in our Uganda safari and Seychelles holiday itinerary.

Prefer to explore more islands by sea? Our 8 days Seychelles cruising holiday sails between Curieuse, Cousin, Praslin and La Digue.

Best Time for a 7 Days Holiday in Seychelles

The Seychelles is warm all year, with temperatures of around 26 to 31°C, so there is no bad time to visit. The calmest, clearest months for swimming and snorkelling are April and May and October and November, between the two trade wind seasons.

From May to September the south-east trade winds bring cooler, breezier days, while December to March is hotter and more humid, with occasional heavy showers. Read more in our guide to the best time to visit Seychelles.

Practical Tips for Your 7 Days Holiday in Seychelles

  • Travel authorisation: the Seychelles does not require a visa, but every visitor must apply online for a Seychelles Travel Authorisation before flying.
  • Ferries: luggage limits apply on inter-island ferries, so pack light and use soft bags where possible.
  • Getting around La Digue: bicycles are the norm. Electric buggies and taxis are available if you prefer.
  • Money: the currency is the Seychelles rupee, and euros, US dollars and cards are widely accepted.
  • Packing: bring light clothes, reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, sandals and a dry bag for your phone.
