Our 4 Day Jinja & Sipi Falls Trip combines Uganda's adventure capital with the dramatic scenery of Sipi Falls in the foothills of Mount Elgon. Here's how the four days unfold.

Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala to Jinja via Mabira Forest. Depart Kampala in the morning, stopping at Mabira Forest for a guided nature walk through Uganda's largest surviving rainforest, keeping an eye out for red-tailed monkeys and forest birdlife. Continue to Jinja, arriving in time for lunch overlooking the Nile. In the afternoon, take a boat ride to the Source of the Nile, the point where the world's longest river begins its journey from Lake Victoria. Dinner and overnight in Jinja.

Day 2: White Water Rafting on the Nile. Spend a full day rafting the Nile's rapids, one of the world's most celebrated white water destinations, covering nine rapids across roughly 20 kilometres, four of them Grade 5. Return to Jinja in the evening for a well-earned rest, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 3: Travel to Sipi Falls. After breakfast, travel further east to Sipi Falls in the foothills of Mount Elgon, near the Kenyan border. Settle into your lodge, with the surrounding coffee plantations and hillside views offering a scenic, relaxed afternoon after the previous day's adrenaline. Dinner and overnight at Sipi.

Day 4: Sipi Falls Hike and Return to Kampala. Meet your local guide for a 7 to 8 kilometre hike through local communities and coffee and banana plantations, taking in all three of Sipi's waterfalls, measuring 85, 65, and 99 metres. For those wanting more adventure, an optional abseiling descent down one of the falls is available. After the hike, begin the drive back to Kampala, arriving in the evening.
