DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park – Relax & Settle In
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe (or directly from Entebbe Airport if your flight lands early). The drive to Murchison takes about 6 to 7 hours – but you won't be stuck in the car the whole time.
You'll stop halfway in Masindi Town for a proper lunch and a chance to stretch your legs. Good food, friendly people, and a break from the road.
After lunch, you'll continue to the park. You'll check into your lodge, unpack, and take a deep breath. The rest of the day is yours to relax.
Maybe take a nap. Maybe sit by the pool if your lodge has one. Maybe just sit on your porch and listen to the sounds of the bush settling in for the evening. No game drive tonight. No rushing. You've travelled – now you rest.
Dinner at the lodge. Early to bed. Tomorrow comes early.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Cruise to the Falls
Wake up call: 6:00 am. This is the day you came for.
After a quick breakfast, you'll be in the safari vehicle before the sun is fully up. This is the best time to see wildlife. The air is cool. The light is golden. Lions are still hunting. Leopards haven't gone to bed. Animals are gathered at waterholes.
You'll spend 3 to 4 hours crossing the Paraa Plains. Your guide knows where the action has been – fresh tracks, recent kills, watering holes that attract thirsty animals.
What will you see? Almost certainly elephants and buffaloes in large herds. Probably giraffes – Murchison has the rare Rothschild's giraffe. Definitely antelopes: Uganda Kob, Hartebeest, Oribi, Waterbuck. With luck, you might spot a lion resting under a bush or a leopard draped over a tree branch.
Bird lovers: watch for secretary birds, martial eagles, and saddle-billed storks.
By late morning, the heat builds and the animals retreat to the shade. That's your cue to head back to the lodge for a full lunch and a few hours of rest. Nap. Swim. Relax. You've earned it.
At 2:00 pm, you'll drive to the Paraa jetty for the boat cruise. This is a slow, quiet glide up the Victoria Nile toward the thundering base of Murchison Falls.
Within minutes, you'll see hippos. Lots of hippos. They'll grunt, yawn, and splash – completely unbothered by your presence. Nile crocodiles sunbathe on sandbanks. Elephants and buffaloes wade into the water to drink.
Keep your eyes open for the shoebill stork – that prehistoric-looking bird that stands like a statue in the papyrus.
Then you'll hear it. A low rumble that grows into a roar. The boat edges closer, and suddenly you see it – Murchison Falls. The entire Nile River, 50 meters wide, crashes through an 8-meter gap and plunges 45 meters into a boiling cauldron of foam and mist. You'll feel the spray on your face. You'll hear the thunder in your chest.
After soaking it all in, you'll cruise back – spotting even more animals on the return journey. A short game drive along the channel track takes you back to your lodge for dinner and a well-deserved sleep.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 3: Top of the Falls – Final Game Drive – Return to Entebbe
Your last morning. Let's make it memorable.
After breakfast and checkout, you'll drive to the Top of the Falls. This is a completely different perspective from yesterday's boat cruise. You'll stand just meters from where the Nile explodes through that impossibly narrow gap. The ground vibrates. The roar is deafening. A permanent rainbow arches over the gorge.
Take your time here. Walk along the edge (safely). Take photos. Let the power of this place sink in.
Then, one last gift – a final 2-hour game drive as you make your way toward the park exit. The morning light is still good. Animals are still active. You might catch something you missed yesterday.
When you're ready, you'll leave the park behind and start the drive back to Entebbe or Kampala. Stop for lunch in Masindi Town. Stretch your legs. Watch the countryside roll by one last time.
You'll arrive in Entebbe between at around 6:00 pm. Your guide will drop you at the airport for your flight home, or at your hotel if you're staying on.
Meals: Breakfast only (lunch stop at your own expense or included depending on your package)
Drive time: ~6–7 hours (includes lunch stop)
