Itinerary
Day 1: Kampala to Jinja via Mabira Forest. Your driver-guide picks you up from your hotel in Kampala for the drive east, stopping first at Ssezibwa Falls for a guided walk through these culturally significant grounds, taking in the waterfall, forest scenery, and local wildlife including birds, butterflies, and monkeys. Continue to Mabira Forest for a two-hour guided nature walk beneath the forest canopy, followed by the Canopy Super Skyway zip-line adventure through the treetops, an exhilarating way to experience the forest from above. Continue to Jinja, transferring to the Nile for a one-hour boat ride to the Source of the Nile monument, taking in views across Lake Victoria before settling in for the evening.
Day 2: Sipi Falls Hike and Abseiling. After an early breakfast, leave Jinja behind and travel further east to Sipi Falls in the foothills of Mount Elgon, near the border with Kenya. Meet your local guide and set out on the Sipi Falls trail, a 7 to 8 kilometre hike through local communities and coffee and banana plantations, taking in all three of Sipi's magnificent waterfalls, measuring 85, 65, and 99 metres. For those wanting more adrenaline, an optional abseiling adventure down one of the falls is available. Return to Jinja in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: White Water Rafting at Itanda and Return to Kampala. Spend your final day rafting the Nile's rapids at Itanda Falls, one of the most exciting white water sections on the river, before showering, changing, and beginning the drive back to Kampala, arriving in the early evening.
